To further enhance the operations of the Library and bring its services closer to users, the eLibrary project was approved by Management as one of the Strategic Transformation Initiative (STI) of the Bank for implementation in 2017. The first phase of the initiative involved the implementation of the Koha Library Management system. This system was successfully implemented in 2015 and is now being used to manage the routing operations of the Library. The system provides access to the CBN Library online catalogue which can be accessed by Staff globally. Users can log-on to the online catalogue, interact with the Library, request for books to be put on hold for eventual pick-up; suggest titles of books for the library to acquire etc. The second phase of the eLibrary initiative, CBN Institutional Repository (CBNIR) and the Discovery System was successfully completed in December 2017. This phase of the initiative is geared towards long-term preservation and enhancement of global visibility to CBN research and publication. It is also aimed at unifying search and discovery of CBN Library resources and services.
