Bibliography: p. 297-313.
A motivation for writing this book is the belief that discrimination on the grounds of sex is morally wrong and politically unwise. The author aimed to outline the political roles of women in one particular geographical area and identify a number of themes which make them comprehensible both to specialist and non-specialist readers. This study though mainly descriptive, makes use of the insights of the various schools of political analysis as and when they have seemed useful.
