This symposium sponsored by the Institute of Gas Technology was held June 23-27, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois. The objectives included , to survey the basic technologies of commercially available coal conversion processes and the new, more efficient processes being developed. To examine the problems involved in planning, designing, financing and constructing the large number of coal conversion plants currently projected and to review new developments in complex systems for coal utilization and advanced cycles for power generation.
