Proceedings of a conference held by the International Economic Association in Mexico City, Mexico.
Includes bibliographical references and index.
This volume comprises the proceedings of a conference of the International Economic Association held in Mexico City to review the external aspects of Latin American development experience during the decade of the 1960s and to project future trends. Papers presented by speakers from the Americas, Europe and Japan deal first with general issues arising from the nature and extent of Latin America's economic dependence on world trends and foreign group investment patterns. Seven papers variously examine the region's continuing vulnerability to external market forces and international monetary policies, while reviewing the very significant internal changes in perspective and planning which characterized certain Latin-American states in the sixties.
