This book was the first in a series of studies sponsored by Fairleigh Dickinson University, which concerned with the balance of payments problem. After an exhaustive statistical study of the United States' balance of payments, the three authors concluded that the future of the American dollar was in jeopardy unless strong measures would be immediately taken by the United States government. The book also analyzed major item in the balance of payments so as to discover the basic responsibility for the dollar crisis.
