This is a well-written account of a piece of careful and thorough research. The author introduces the main concepts for developing tax liability functions, gradually progressing through a series of partial models to the incorporation of these in a general model of fiscal policy. The result is an advanced, but highly readable account of the conceptual and econometric problems of setting up tax functions and the treatment of fiscal policy in the context of a general Keynesian expenditure model.
