Includes bibliographical footnotes.
This work is a survey of banking business discussing mainly Hungarian law. It is divided into four parts. Part One is a brief discussion of the general aspects of banking business, Part Two deals with the types of banking transactions prevailing in economic relations between socialist and foreign (mostly capitalist) countries. This Second Part is comparative in its character as it discusses the legal nature of institutions of banking business in various countries and frequently notes the differences among them. Part Three presents the domestic banking business in socialist countries, in the course of which one obtains a picture of the banking organization and the function of banks in Hungary. Part Four deals with payments and credits between socialist countries participating in the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance.
