Three of the papers have been prepared by participants who have recently worked as economic advisers: Alastair Balls in the Tanzanian Treasury, A.P.L. Minford in the Malawi Treasury and J.G. Potter in the Zambian Ministry of Development and finance. Others include visiting speakers: Cyril Ehrlich at Makerere University College and Belfast and Douglas Rimmer at Legon and Centre of West African Studies, Birmingham.
