N2  - This book explains how the American Agricultural Economics Association decided some years ago that there was a need for a major review of the agricultural economics literature published over the last thirty years. The first volume dealing with traditional fields of agricultural economics has now appeared; a further two are promised. The aim of this major undertaking is to furnish teachers and researchers in agricultural economics and related subjects with a comprehensive survey of the literature. To this end the volume is in seven parts, each part having an acknowledged expert responsible for its contents. The parts are :
