Bibliography: p. 276-281.
The book is aimed at providing decision makers in developing countries with the necessary tools to determine the social net benefit to them from the operation of particular acts of private overseas investment (POI), and the study includes the application of such guidelines. This book is in five parts: (i) a general review, (ii) guidelines for appraising foreign investment in developing countries, (iii) application in India, (iv) application in Kenya, (v) "Passion, Politics and Power".
The general review presents the global statistics of POI stocks and flows in a very clear and concise way in diagrams and tables, some of the data for which are taken from the Reuber study and most of the remainder from the OECD
