The author in this preface wishes to emphasize that this book attempts to present a lucid account of the interaction between the traditional (customary) mode of conversion of title and the conventional ( adopted and foreign) system of ownership. Chapter 1 deals, inter alia, with forms of conveyance under customary law. Chapter 2 attempts an approach to the problems. subsequently, other chapters treats the fundamental issue of the effect of the two conflicting lines of Nigerian decisions on customary transfer of land accompanied by writing.
