The purpose of this compendious book is to show the kinds of conceptual and theoretical gaps that need to be filled in order to meet the common complaint that inflation theory "was not moving in any definite direction. The volume covers excess demand inflation, creeping inflation, the cost-push demand-pull inflation. It also examines the contribution of the monetary approach in the analysis of hyperinflation; and models which stress the phenomenon of continuously rising wage rates.
