This is a report of the economic commission for Africa (ECA) sub-regional meeting on economic cooperation in West Africa held in Niamey, 10-22 October 1966. It examines industrial development in West Africa countries and focus on extractive industries; food processing industries; sugar confectionary; tobacco, textiles and clothing; shoe and leather; paper and paper manufacture; wood manufacture (including furniture); printing and publishing; natural rubber, chemical industries; brick and refractories; glass; ceramics; cement industry; iron and steel; electronic industry; and engineering. The countries include: Dahomey (now Benin); Gambia; Ghana; Guinea; Ivory Coast; Liberia; Mali; Mauritania; Niger; Nigeria; Senegal; Sierra Leone; Togo; Upper Volta(now Burkina Faso)
