The author's study has sought to document in clear and comprehensive fashion the timing and degree of response by life insurance investments to changing monetary policy during those eventful years. It is hoped that his analysis will prove useful to the life insurance investment officer who wishes to sharpen his understanding of the influence of monetary policy upon his daily investment activities and, more importantly, alert himself to the effects that future monetary policy changes may have on his operations.
