The Proceedings of a Symposium held by the International Institute for Labour Studies at Egelund, Denmark, 23-27 October 1967 under the Chairmanship of Clark Kerr.
Includes bibliographical footnotes and index.
About half of the volume consists of eleven papers prepared for the symposium: five by academic economists, four by officials of national and international organizations, one by a union representative and one by an employers' representative. While the subjects of the papers were limited to underdeveloped countries, the authors were not. The other half of the book
consists of a summary of the discussions held during the
symposium and an analysis of the proceedings subsequently made by the editor. The editor's analysis of the proceedings is a cogent and concise rendition of the key points contributed by the symposium.
