This book is presented in two parts. Part one Diagnosis: explains, in the broadest terms the extraordinary success of the nineteenth century system of international convertibility and the calamitous collapse of the late 1920's, the brave attempt to bring it back to life after World War 1. The second part talks about prescription where it outlined the radicle institutional reforms adapted to adjust monetary flexibility and enhance gold and dollar convertibility.
