This volume contains the Proceedings of a Symposium held at the International Institute for Labor Studies in Geneva in October, 1966. The Chairman was Pierre Masse, the former French Planning Commissioner. The twenty-two participants drawn from unions, management, governments international agencies, and universities in Europe and the United States heard thirteen papers on the question of cost-push inflation and public policy. Discussion focused on the issue of wage push and the attempt to cope with this kind of inflationary pressure through wage guidelines or outright wage and price controls.
