Summary: This third volume concludes the very thorough revision of Dr. M. G. Kendall's "The Advanced Theory of Statistics" which began to appear in 1958. The third volume is fairly clearly divided into three parts-analysis of variance (including design of experiments and surveys), multivariate methods and time series. It is by no means self-contained, however; this volume is very much the applied statistics volume, and from the very first sentence we have to refer to volume II for properties developed in readiness for their application in volume III.
