The Conferences were organized in order to reexamine systematically the language game of econometric practice. In particular, one single fundamental question guided the unavoidable proliferation of somewhat technical detail: Does the language game actually pursued with admirable technical dexterity and ingenuity satisfy the requirements of a cognitive game?
