Summary: The main ideas in this book originated sometime in 1957 - 1958 - the period when the first reorganization of planning and management in Czechoslovakia was being prepared. This work, 'Plan and market under socialism' is a translated, revised and supplemented edition of the title 'On the Problems of Socialist Commodity Relations' which appeared in Czech in 1964. The book has made further theoretical work, intensified collective work on the actual preparation of a new system of economic management in Czechoslovakia. It is hoped that this study will contribute toward a deeper understanding of the need for specifically new forms of planning and for using market relationships under socialism and to make for theoretical certainty in putting these new forms into effect and into practical application.
