Summary: This report on the activities of the Commission during the 1986-1987 biennium is the fifth in the series which started in 1978 as a means of reporting to member states on the activities of the Commission as carried out by its main policy organ, its subsidiary bodies and the secretariat in the pursuit of their onerous task of promoting economic development and growth in the region and assisting members both individually and collectively through intergovernmental organizations and institutions to formulate policies, programmes and projects and implement them.
