The author in Part one discusses the disintegration of the International Economic order. Part two examines the roles of the so-called international oil crisis of 1973/74 and finds that oil power was crucial to the current agitation and search for a new international economic order. Part three takes up the debate further and highlights the structural changes in the international system which made the oil power possible and effective in the first instance.
