Abstract: Objectives of this study: (1) to provide a description of the technique of Nigerian rubber production; (2) to determine the relative profitability of the various organizations now extant; (3) to evaluate the impact of falling world market prices on the profitability of ordinary smallholdings as they are now organized; (4) to evaluate the profitability of farms planting high yielding trees under alternatice price and cost assumptions; and (5) to suggest methods for implementing change in the rubber industry.
