Proceedings of the Conference on Economic Development sponsored by the Department of Economics and the Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of Texas in 1958.
Includes bibliographical references and index.
The conference endeavored to make a contribution to a general rationale of economic development. With a view to achieving balance between what might be formulated with respect to general theory, and what might be brought out incidentally in progress and resource reports on particular countries, half the papers deal with general problems and theory, cutting across national lines, and the other half deal with national states.
