This is a survey of the British nationalisation experience. Between1942 and 1951, five major industries were nationalised namely coal, transport, electricity, gas, and steel. The book is divided into four: part 1, socialist thoughts on nationalisation 1945; part 2, the history of the nationalised industries; part 3, aspects of the nationalised industries; and part four, labour policy on nationalisation after 1945 as well as the public corporation in Britain.
