Summary, etc. The book examines concepts, mechanisms and regulations of transfer pricing with respect to Multinational Corporations (MNCs). The objective of the study is to analyse the nature, pattern and causes of conflicts between MNCs from the US, Western Europe and Japan and the developing countries. What are the expectations of MNCs and host countries towards each other? How do MNCs react to the regulations and restrictions on their operations imposed by the host countries and which of these are likely to engender the most conflict? Do factors such as industry structure, ownership, size and nationality of MNCs have a bearing on the nature and intensity of conflicts? Who best to ask about these issues but the men in the bush, the managers of MNCs and government officials in the host countries? The study provides a diagnosis of the conflicts of MNCs with host countries through extensive interviews, based on a structured questionnaire, with senior executives of 124 MNCs in India, Peru, Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and with government officials in these countries.
